Brumous

wind lashes upon soft skin on a shore recently ravaged by an unforgiving storm all possibility of conversation drowned by thrashing waves simple looks now bearing weight of words unsaid heavy with thoughts of two souls desperately clinging to memories of the past what once was yet will not be again two spirits intertwined by the passing time quietly growing future apart paths diverging by the years driving wedges between a union of what was believed their divinity some decades ago footsteps struggling now to remain in sync with the one they believed was to be their one now with age split ting making what was once a converging front now a divergent storm brewing with each day that passes

The Search

what is in it the desire to find meaning the wishes to find purpose what if there is none no reason to live but only for the principle of having done so life might end in a second or wander on for a hundred years a spiral at which we begin on high only to fall deeper in or is it we're ascending into what might be greater than mortal years a drive down a country back road to a familiar destination the sight of a rippling field of sunflowers on a warm summers afternoon the scent of Irish Spring soap lingering far too long on the sleeves of a loved jacket wisps of smoke floating from lips laced with echoing "I love you"s winds darting through fractured car windows drowning out the sounds of reverberating thoughts the feel of softened leather beneath worn hands tame flames of heat dancing across pale skin what is it that it all amounts to fleeting bits of memory that snake their way through open palms like sand through children's han...

Walking the Labyrinth

How do we  escape this labyrinth of suffering life as we say a never stopping  always moving maze of walls tunnels and pathways feet never ceasing  to move forward never back to the places we once were what is it all for this journey into a life only to end in death but does it ever truly end this maze of existence with no scarlet thread to show the way we once entered into the fog  beyond the hedges of the known into the night that does not end what minotaur lies within the center to a battle of which we are sure to lose or is there a center at all do we walk aimlessly only to find no purpose of the journey or is the walk that is the purpose to find new turns never knowing what lies ahead a bed we make  simply to never sleep is that what it all is for and in the end who is it that will remember the path of which we trod or is it ourselves only that know what lies in our path our wishes of the future our echoes of the pa...

Getting Right Back

He's everything I've ever wanted More than I could've dreamed Soft light flitting through bent metal blinds Catching every angle of his still sleeping face How wonderful it is To have the privilege to wake up Next to what must be a flesh angel So much love Passes across soft lips Falling into my lap With my cup overrunning More patience than father time More love than stored in cupid's quiver I've never thought it possible to find The one for who my heart longs for

Saorsa

Breaking through Molded drywall Pushing out Out soggy cardboard Shattering glass Dug into soft fists I will not let it consume me Not this time

Calendars

Months slip by Falling sand Through thinly blown glass Stacking up Only to fall in on itself I can still feel the way His head was in my hands The way street lights caught his eyes Scents of cigarette smoke and dirt Clinging to cotton sheets Fingers sliding through messy blond Solid hands with gentle touch Oh how we do not know What loss is Until our chests are ripped open With hearts ripped out How could you Why would you Leave me all alone Now to struggle through it all I've broken through it Fallen inwards Into unknown self Clawing my way Upwards to more darkness In an ever looping Cycle Of calm And forgetting To pain And an insufferable ache That now plagues me Day in and out Trapping me Your chains Rusted But still tight Digging into soft flesh Until it's been paid in blood I'm Sorry But it's too late

Philophobia

Hot water pouring Down in sheets of steam Burning into both sets of skin Words exchanged Memories flood back Like the liquid falling onto me He Hurt Me How could he He said he loved me How could I let him I am weak Falling to my knees Weeping like rain Sensitive to the touch Yet This one comforts Instead of scolds He holds me Instead of leaving Words of love and warmth Instead of lashing and hurt I want to open up again But it's going to take time
