Komorebi

 Worn boots kiss cold dew-soaked leaves A soft crackle escapes the earth As slow steps echo through the wood Spirals of smoke created from mere breath Fade off into the morning air If a girl were to fall apart Out here amongst the pines And no one is around to see Was she ever really there to begin with?

 Cold steel begs it's way between dainty lips Slithering as a snake does Between ivory stones Resting itself Awaiting the moment to make its final blow Hands shake as the creature is held A magnet to the light Wishing to have its way to be able To snuff it out One bite Is all it would take Water flows down pale cheeks Hitting cold white tile Just as the crimson drops may  And pool as reflective mirrors In which we may see the sins We feel others already see Even through the heavy masks one presents We use to force ourselves through the monotonous cycles That life pushes us through A camel now fits through the eye of the needle We've used to sew our eyes and mouth shut One day  The teeth will sink through the softness of flesh To allow freedom For the trapped soul

 White panels shift as soft skin is cusped by worn working hands Small stars formed by the passing of sun grace fair shoulders Dancing across the nose's bridge  Forever leaving a trail that dainty fingers now glide across Tangles of short kept hair  Sliding beneath sleepy fingertips A small flame builds as gentle warmth spreads beneath blankets The faint beams of light Flutter like eyelids Onto a floor many have tread In a room that's seen many lovers before A steady beat  Shared by two drums  Echo between to hollow people As the night rolls along Writing its own song Sung by a quiet choir Begging to sing a passion That can never be
