warm storm water dripping heavy slipping down leaves falling to clay causing little muddy puddles for spirits to play thunder rolls shifting through air being chased by white lightning silence falls as the world goes still only hearing the steady dance of heavy rain

slipping glimpses of sun light sinking slowly into the river cobalt indigo lilac mauve flashes of fading flames into a watery grave leaving us with still darkness tense emotion dripping off dew dampened leaves pooling around worn boots and well-loved sneakers sparks float aimlessly through the brush dancing dizzy falling stars longing to land dapple the leaves creating constellations connections between us shocking me shaking you how is it we took so long
