Choking on Flowers

Petals flutter over delicate eyelashes

Flickering flashes of color

Yellow wisps

Slide over dewy cheeks

Landing haphazardly across the red clay

Flesh thrashing

As pale skin

Gains a ghastly color

Crimson tints

From behind boney gates

Knees hitting the ground

Greeted by heavy gags

In vain efforts

To dislodge the rest

Like the words unspoken

They're trapped where the air gets in

I cannot breathe
