Sparks
Better with age
Each and every day
Things grow
And new beginnings bloom
Opening eyes to new early mornings
Between soft sheets
A smile crossing lips of one
Once a stranger
Finding his way in
To a place you'd forgotten could be reached
Sitting there
On your kitchen counter
In your old teeshirt
Watching you glance up at me from the stove
Sparks flying
Like the dinner
You accidentally set on fire
Laughter fills the halls
Of a now shared home
Yellow walls and wooden floors
Now a stage on which we play
Whispers pass between soft lips
Telling secrets of our pasts
Longing glances shared
Over waves of music
Falling upon open ears
And thrown wide hearts
Ready to let the other in
Each and every day
Things grow
And new beginnings bloom
Opening eyes to new early mornings
Between soft sheets
A smile crossing lips of one
Once a stranger
Finding his way in
To a place you'd forgotten could be reached
Sitting there
On your kitchen counter
In your old teeshirt
Watching you glance up at me from the stove
Sparks flying
Like the dinner
You accidentally set on fire
Laughter fills the halls
Of a now shared home
Yellow walls and wooden floors
Now a stage on which we play
Whispers pass between soft lips
Telling secrets of our pasts
Longing glances shared
Over waves of music
Falling upon open ears
And thrown wide hearts
Ready to let the other in
